At SAF, I'm staff liaison to two groups - SAF's Retailer's Council and Technology Committee. The meeting books have come a long way since I picked up these gigs. They use to be 50 plus page behemoths due to the fact they are printed one sided and sent out in binders. What a waste right? Well, a few years back, we began sending the Technology Committee books out as Adobe Acrobat PDFs. And since, this practice has proliferated out to most of the other committees. In addition to saving printing and shipping costs (on our end but our member still needs to print out a copy), we save lots of staff time not having to put together 12+ books and can push the shipping date giving us a few extra days.

In addition to the books, I'll be working on the SAF Wikinomics Website at http://www.saftechnology.org. This is the group's virtual sandbox as we develop the next version of SAF's member Website currently at http://www.safnow.org. I have lots to do as I extract and implement ideas from a group meeting we had two months ago and convert them into functional components of the Wwebsite.
