I may have mentioned in the past, the great thing about the Joomla template system is that much of the programming that animates a Webpage's elements such as the drop downs in this case may normally require a few hours of programming, costing some bucks.

That was the old way.

As with any template system, you code once and deploy plenty. This obviously keeps the cost down for everybody but you do run the risk of having a Web site design resemble another. But at $70 for a template design subscription, it's a risk I don't mind taking consider you have access to usually 70 plus design templates with several color/font options for each. This I would think lowers the likelihood of duplication.

Renato has pointed out that there is no risk of your site looking identical to other sites if you are using Joomla template because you have got enough color and font options to choose from. But from my experience I can tell you that this risk is there. In fact I have used Joomla template for my site and I have seen a lot of sites which look strikingly similar to my site. I think the only advantage of Joomla is that it is cheap.
